Our Story Begins in 1987

Not gonna lie - when the Quinthal family first laid eyes on this chunk of mountain, most folks thought they'd lost their minds. Building a luxury resort this high up? In Whistler's backcountry? Yeah, people had doubts.

But here's the thing - sometimes the craziest ideas turn out to be the best ones. What started as a small alpine lodge with just twelve rooms has grown into something we're genuinely proud of, and honestly, it still feels a bit surreal.

The Quinthal vision wasn't about creating another cookie-cutter mountain hotel. They wanted a place where you could literally feel the stress melt away the second you walked through the doors. Somewhere that respected the mountain's raw beauty instead of trying to compete with it.

Where Serenity Meets Sophistication

We've been refining this whole "mountain luxury" thing for over three decades now, and we're still learning something new pretty much every season. The original lodge? Still standing, actually - we've just added around it, keeping that authentic alpine soul while bringing in the modern comforts folks expect these days.

Our spa and wellness center came about in 2003 after guests kept telling us they didn't wanna leave. Like, ever. So we figured if people are gonna stick around longer, might as well give 'em a proper reason to completely unwind. The hot stone treatments using river rocks from the valley below? That was actually a happy accident that became our signature thing.

The team here isn't your typical hotel staff - we've got ski instructors who moonlight as concierges, massage therapists who lead sunrise hikes, and a head chef who forages for ingredients on his days off. Everyone's a bit mountain-obsessed, which honestly makes this place work.

Natural surroundings

Rooted in Nature

The land we're on has this incredible history - indigenous peoples traveled these routes for centuries before us. We've worked with local First Nations communities to understand and respect that heritage, which is why you'll notice traditional artwork throughout the resort and why we're so serious about environmental stewardship.

Every building decision, every landscaping choice, every menu item - there's thought behind it. We compost like crazy, source locally whenever possible, and our energy system is way more efficient than it needs to be. Not trying to win awards or anything, just feels like the right way to do things when you're lucky enough to call this mountain home.

The Jade Crest Philosophy

Here's what we've figured out after all these years - real luxury isn't about how many thread counts your sheets have (though ours are pretty nice, not gonna lie). It's about those unscripted moments. Watching the sunrise paint the peaks gold while you're wrapped in a robe with a ridiculous cup of coffee. Finding that perfect trail where it's just you and the wilderness. Actually relaxing during a massage instead of thinking about your inbox.

We can't control the weather, and mountain life comes with its quirks - sometimes the wifi acts up, occasionally we spot a bear near the property (safely, don't worry), and winter storms can be intense. But that's kinda the point? You're here to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with what matters.

Wellness facilities

Whether you're here for adventure, restoration, celebration, or honestly just to hide from reality for a few days - we get it. The mountain has a way of giving you exactly what you need, and we're just here to make sure you're comfortable while it works its magic.

Mountain Views That Never Get Old

Come See What We're About

Look, we could keep talking about ourselves all day, but you really gotta experience this place to get it. The way the morning light hits the valley, the quiet that settles in after snowfall, that first sip of something warm after a day on the mountain - it's different when you're actually here.

We'd love to show you around and maybe share a story or two about the mountain. Fair warning though - people tend to extend their stays once they settle in.
